A storm was coming but who knew that the storm would be the voices of  the people who want answers. Festival goers of Baltimore‘s annual Artscape festival took a detour as they watched the group express themselves about the issues that have been affecting the black community recently. #Afromation, as one of the bystanders told me, briefly blocked Jones Falls expressway to lock arms, symbolizing that they stand together in their demand for change. Shortly after that, officers flooded the area surrounding not only protesters but others who were just simple spectators. As a result, 65 protesters were arrested, but released shortly after only being given citations. Although these people were arrested, I respect that they had the courage to come out and speak on such issues publicly regardless of who’s criticizing. I was able to capture moments; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I was hoping that festival goers understood the message delivered from this mixed crowd of juveniles and adults.
