Question of the day: Do you judge people by existing stereotypes when you first encounter them?

When people first meet it seems like first nature to analyze the other person before you carry out any relationship but, how are you analyzing them? Are you looking at what type of clothes they are wearing, what color they are, trying to figure out their sexual orientation? It is funny how modern day stereotypes have our brains programmed to think with prejudice, before we even know the person we are judging.

Nope, I do not judge when I first meet a person but I will say that I use to. When you’re younger or young minded you base everything off of appearance. You draw a conclusion in your head of what you think that person is like in the first 10 seconds of meeting them and 9 times out of 10, your first thought is WRONG. I changed my way of thinking because one, i’m getting older and my mind is more open and two, I absolutely hate it when someone prejudge me. You do not know everyones story or what they are going through that particular day. Yes the world has made it so easy to judge off of knowing nothing about that person but I no longer can do that. The sweetest people, that I met look nothing like I would have expected and vice versa. I was always told in the beginning I looked mean and unapproachable but later down the line people realized i’m the furthest thing from that. We block so many blessings by going off appearance and shutting people down because of physical features. Its almost amazing. I hold the saying “never judge a book by its cover” to the highest degree because you just never know what’s on the inside.
