[QOTW] What Are Your Thoughts On The Trump Administration’s Plan To Repeal and Replace The Affordable Care Act?

So before I thought about asking this question, I had to do a little research and questioning myself. As of May 4th, 2017, it was made known that the republicans plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. If this bill gets passed that would mean that people with “pre-existing conditions”  will not have protection. What is a pre-existing condition? It is a medical condition that started before a person’s health insurance went into effect. Having a pre-existing medical condition isn’t the core issue here, it’s how the treatment of these conditions will be afforded under this new healthcare bill. We all know, or should know, that with pre-existing health conditions your health coverage is already higher, so with repealing the Affordable Care Act it only means that their health care has the possibility of sky-rocketing. With higher priced healthcare there will be a lot of people that will be out of luck with medications and treatments, which will result in more deaths. As of right now, there are 50 “health issues” on that list which include pregnancy, transsexualism, AIDS and more.

You can check out the full list here.

There is an uproar because rape and domestic abuse may be added to the list of pre-existing conditions. Adding that to the list is like a slap in the face to those victims and it is insensitive. Do you believe that this is a smart move or is it as absurd as it sounds? Are you someone with a pre-existing condition? Do you think the passing of this bill will benefit anyone in any aspect?
