Residents dig their way out of parking spots to escape cabin fever.

Remember there is a reason for everything. The myth that people usually speak of when we get warm weather in the winter proved itself true this time. Winter storm Jonas can be compared to a person with many hidden talents that is constantly doubted. The impact of this storm was definitely doubted by residents although they ran to the nearest supermarkets and cleared shelves. Over the span of three days 29.2 inches of snowfall was recorded in Baltimore (BWI), which beat the snowfall records of previous years! This storm also produced hurricane-like winds which made conditions even worse to bare during the passing of this weather event. Baltimore was one of the regions that got the worst of Jonas. Unfortunately there were some people who lost their lives, power, and belongings in this storm. The dig out is expected to take a few days, but main roads for the most part are clear. The side streets, not so much. Residents with cabin fever are ready to go back to work regardless of the advice to stay off of the road. Salt is scarce in some neighborhoods so people are taking matters in to their own hands. Business is almost as usual, but this storm is definitely hindering sales and delaying the daily commute of residents . As we clean up what mother nature dropped off we must remember to keep warm, put a chair in our parking spots, and abide by rules given in order to ensure our safety.
