[Question of the Day] Now That Pharrell Has Given The People What They Have Been Nagging About, How Do You Feel About This Marilyn Monroe Cover? [Music Video Inside]

Pharrell-Marilyn-Monroe-Cover

I feel like Pharrell has made a statement with this cover but, of course you have the naysayers and the pessimists who will slander him for trying to basically, shut y’all up! This isn’t about my opinion though so I will leave it to you guys to tell me what you think of the cover. Are we missing the true message of the song because of color?

  1. It’s a decent song I guess. I like Happy a little better. But it bothers me that when people talk about the great beauties back in the 1950’s and 60’s they never mention Dorothy Dandridge or Lena Horne. As black people we have to pay homage and respect to our ancestors that opened the doors for us. Why are black artists always giving props to Monroe instead of their own??? I just don’t get it. Dorothy was a true legendary beauty. And a much better actress than Monroe.
