There are various points in our lives where either our path to success or the Universe acting on its own will lead us to spend a good amount of time by ourselves. These times can come at different times in our in lives and they tend to either come by surprise with little to no warning or by causation. They can also come as the result of the decisions we’re forced to make which sometimes can lead us to sacrifice the company of others for our own personal development and well-being. Whatever the circumstances surrounding this solitude are,  it is important to keep in mind that being alone does NOT have to coincide with being LONELY. As cliche as this sounds, we have to take this time while we are alone to focus on ourselves and our personal well-being. This includes our physical health, mental health, and emotional health as well as setting personal goals for yourself and attaining them daily so that you don’t allow yourself time to truly feel or dwell in the lonely feelings that tend to pop up. Now granted, I understand that this is easier said than done. I know from personal experience that those feelings of loneliness and desertion can grab a mighty grip on our psyche and have us dwelling in a dark case of emotions for hours, even days at a time. While there is nothing wrong with feeling this way, we can’t allow ourselves to become so engulfed in these emotions that we lose who we truly are. In all reality, we are born and we will die, in some regards, alone and we must always keep in mind that no matter what, at the end of the day we are always our own best company. You are the only one whom you can be absolutely sure has your best interests at heart. You know for certain that when you tell yourself something it is coming from a place of absolute truth because it is coming from within. You can trust yourself with your own life better than anyone because no one can value you more than you can. So please try to keep in mind when you’re going through your times of isolation, that not only is it temporary but it is necessary. We have to use these times to get to know ourselves as best we can, our likes and dislikes, our passions, our flaws, and attributes. We have to become dedicated students of ourselves and have a yearning desire to learn these things because when the time comes for someone else to enter into our lives in any capacity, we want to be as ready as possible so that rather than holding this person or yourself back, you can continue to thrive forward together.
