[Advice] Stop Bottling “It” Up [Written By Chasity Pryor]

I’ve learned from personal experience that bottling things up can be emotionally and mentally damaging. When you begin to sweep things under the rug, it starts to pile up and you end up with a huge mess to clean up. Mentally, it’s hard to come back when things start boiling over. It drains your psyche and leaves you feeling lifeless. We tend to run away from the things that scare us; that’s instinctual. But, when do we stop running? When do we just face it?

Here’s the thing, facing your problems makes you stronger. It makes your mental health stronger and makes you a little less insecure. Insecurity isn’t just about looks, it’s also about your purpose and a lot of people haven’t quite found their purpose yet. That’s because they are holding something in, pulling back from something instead of facing it head on. It deters your potential and makes it harder to just take it day by day.

If you have an issue, fix it. No matter how big of an issue that it is, it’s better to just get it over with. The longer that you let it simmer, the more likely it is to boil over. Someone messing with your head, messing with your personal growth, or messing with anything that makes you happy? Say something about it. Get rid of the negativity. Don’t just allow your anger and frustrations to build up until you explode. You lose friends and family that way. You also lose sensibility and end up saying things that you regret and hurting people that you love. You just feel shitty in the end.

Live life, don’t let life live you.  Don’t let it get in the way of what makes you happy. Don’t allow people and things to consume you until you boil over. If you just let it out instead of holding it in, it’s easier to just be.

Be Blessed,

Chasity.
