2015 is said to be one of Baltimore‘s bloodiest years on record. 2015 became a historic year for Baltimore as we dealt with the death of Freddie Gray and what followed. Through the chaos, there was a beauty that came from it and there was more chaos that caused our murder rate to shoot through the roof. Many people were confused at this hike in crime and wondered what may have been the catalyst. Some residents put the blame on law enforcement who seemed to have backed off as Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake came under fire for how poorly she was handling the aftermath of  Freddie Gray’s death. Others blame gang violence and retaliation. This year, murder and homicide rates surpassed 300 and criminals have become more ruthless with their crimes. It seems as if the conditions are getting worse. Has the tone been set for the years to come? Do you think 2017 will end the same?
