[QOTW] How Do You Decide Who To Trust With Your Children? [Written by Brandon Williams]

I personally can’t wait to be a father. Now, I understand that being a parent is no picnic and that there are just as many burdens as there are blessings when it comes to parenthood but, I still enthusiastically look forward to the day that I’m able to create a little bundle of life of my very own. I know several parents, both family and friends, who are the parents of infant children and, in most family or close settings, they’re more than willing to let people hold the baby, if for no other reason than that it gives them the chance to enjoy a few minutes with both of their hands free. But, in the back of my mind, I’ve always wondered, what goes through a parents mind when they pass their child off to someone else? I know that sounds a bit paranoid but I think that as a parent these days, especially with the direction society is heading lately, you have to be a little bit paranoid. I look at it as I would only trust my children in the hands of people I would trust with my life. Now, of course, I don’t mean that on a day-to-day standpoint as in childcare and school and things of that nature, but even that  trust only extends so far. I mean you have to worry about people’s germs and illnesses, both known and unknown, people being too rough or mishandling them, someone doing the worst and taking them. I mean, I know that may be over-thinking (something which I have a terrible habit of doing) but, I feel like those things are always in the back of a parent’s mind, or at least they will be in mine. So, to the parents reading this, I pose a question; what goes through your mind when you place your child in the care of another person? or, to put it another way, how do you choose who to trust with the care of your children?
