[Photos] Last Week At Give & Take : An Artistic Experience [Shot By Shae McCoy]
Every week at Give & Take: An Artistic Experience, there are a plethora of creative events going on. Last week I was able to stop by and capture many moments. First stop was Alanah Nichole‘s Much More Than An Open Mic where creatives gathered and expressed themselves through poetry, dance, and music. It was a full house that night with vendors included! Look out for the next open mic on August 24th! For more information, follow Alanah on Instagram @AlanahNichole.
Then, there was the weekend. This past weekend at Give & Take was a bit tasty. Chef Cat‘s International Cuisine Pop-up series kicked off and Chef Bey came through with his divine tasting vegan cuisine. For Chef Cat‘s event, the pop-up menu of the night was Italian. It included mushroom and gruyere bruschetta, creamy tomato tortellini, Italian love cake, and strawberry Italian soda. I was able to taste the creamy tomato tortellini and I must say my taste buds were very satisfied. This won’t be the last of Chef Cat‘s reign as she has more pop-ups coming up!
Now, there was a point in my life where I frowned upon the vegan lifestyle and the food that vegans ate. I assumed that the vegan life consisted of just eating leafy vegetables until I met Chef Bey. Ever since I tasted a vegan dish made by him a while ago, breakfast to be exact, I fell in love. This past weekend Chef Bey did a pop-up brunch and the menu consisted of cheesy burger wraps, fried garden potatoes, watermelon lemonade, and sweet edible treats. Out of everything on the menu, I was able to taste the vegan burgers and the watermelon lemonade because ,as expected, he sold out of most of the food! If you are looking for vegan food with an exquisite taste, he’s the man for you!
